Halyards
To save me travelling from Ipswich to Manly to measure them, does anyone know the length of the Spinnaker Halyard and topping lift for a '24. I want to replace both and it will be easier to have them with me when I go to WMYC. By the way, both come back to the cockpit.

It depends on the size of the spinnaker and how high up the mast the halyard goes. I only have 20/20 rig on my mark one and I bring the halyard back to the top of the cabin? Which topping lift do you want the length off the main or the spinnaker pole

Re: Halyards
I have the standard spinnaker as listed on this site, and the topping lift is for the spinnaker pole. Thanks for your reply, I have found in the specs on this site that the hieght of the spinnaker halyard block should be 21' so I need 42' + the bit back to the cockpit. There doesn't appear to be a measurement for the topper.

Re: Halyards
Martyn,

How I get the length of a new halyard is I measure the height from the mast base to the height to the exit box of the halyard needed. I then measure the length of rope needed to get the halyard back to the cabin top cleat making shore that I include the distance the rope runs through any pulleys. I then add the 2 lengths together and X it by 2. This way you should end up with the new halyard that has about 2 m extra in length than you need.
