nationals
Ok, having sailed the Wintersun and being the last RL home. At least I finished, ( the second race). Ambuscade 11 is definately a cruising RL ( even Rob agrees she has a heavier hull). I had such a good time I am thinking about January. Questions, how many days, how long races, how much money, class for my yacht,? Crew are complaining they have real jobs and family and stuff but seem keen to party. Help me sell the deal.
Beware they already read this sight!!!

Re: nationals
Martyn,

First of all, It was great to have you out there on the weekend and I'm very glad that you and your crew had a great time.

The Nationals will be running from the 9 - 15 Jan 2011 and will be run out of Southport at the Main Club. As for the races, The program is still being worked out. The talk is that we will do 2 - 3 races a day offshore and there may be a passage race as well on one day. As for classes, again the talk is for there to be 3 divisions. Drop keel, Swing Keel and Cruising. As for the cost again it is still being worked out at this stage.

As soon as we know more I let you know.

Re: nationals
David.
I was recently sent a video of the last Bay to Bay race and was impressed with the condition of most of the 24s competing, and it was obvious that many owners do put a lot of effort to keep their boats in top condition, so, to reward them, and to create some interest outside of the racing, would a trophy for the best presented boat be acceptable at the next nationals. If so I know of an enthusiastic donar

Re: nationals
We can keep an eye out for the accommodation here on the Gold Coast too if you need any help with that, Main Beach caravan park is so close to the Southport Yacht club with a boat ramp down the road, and the broadwater caravan park in Southport also has a boat ramp near by.. let me know if you need help from this end, I would be happy to help out

Re: nationals
Rob,

That would be great if you would like to do that. One of the interesting things that I'm finding out when talking to owners is there is a lot very keen to be part of the nationals who don't do much racing and cruise their boats and keep them in very good condition.

Now if any one is having trouble finding some ware to stay let me now and I will see what I can do to help you out.

Also If you have any questions about what you need to do to get your boat into class and ready for the nationals. Again send me a Email and I will try to help you out or ask the questions now on the forum.
