Halyard jammed
Main halyard is jammed when it came off the pulley at the top of the mast. Has someone hoisted using the topping lift but she could not get it back on. Had to cut the halyard to lower the sail with the halyard firmly stuck. Is there a diagram of it available of the mast top? Anyone have an idea on how to fix this problem?

Re: Halyard jammed
Did the rope separate, the inner and outer parts? If so, you should tie a smaller, new rope on, pull it thru, then pull a new correctly sized main halyard line thru. Otherwise, maybe the sheeve is worn out and rusted or frozen, must drop mast to fix that I suppose.

Re: Halyard jammed
Sent friend up mast again following Saturday when conditions were calmer. Could not free it but last attempt by pulling at base of mast freed it. Next day fed new halyard and has since been hoisting ok.

You may need a new sheave if the existing one is worn.
