Currently busy rejuvenating my RL24 and was wondering how one best could restore this (painted aluminium?) trim. Looks a little oxidized and luster has faded. Trying to avoid any acid based products to protect top sides. I have attached an image that shows the brown/brass colour like trim.

Your trim between the hull and deck is anodized aluminum and the only way to clean it is to use some mild dish-washing liquid and a very mild abrasive sponge. Be careful though not to be too rough or the raw aluminum will show through.
