Melges 20
Rob Google the words Melges 20 and have a look at the photos of the production facilities in McConaghy Boats factory in China and you will be impressed. This new model from the USA Company Melges is targeted at the popular Laser SB3 sportsboat and is to be manufactured in large numbers by this very successful Australian company. I remember that their composite construction methods gained fame many years ago in a round the world race when their boats were the only ones not to suffer delaminating problems up forward in the pounding area during the race. One boat called Silk Cut was air freighted in an ultra large Russian freighter all the way to the start in Europe. The boat is a strict one design and has ‘pensioner perches’!!
