RL24 INSURANCE
I suggest we all shop around for insurance. I have had my boat insured with CGU for nearly 8 years and this year the premium went up heaps (again) even with a reasonable claim history. So I shopped around and found GIO was over 40% cheaper with full racing risk and a similar policy. Having had a satisfied history with CGU (claim for broken mast some 5 years ago - claim paid without any hassles) I approached CGU for a review of the renewal premium given the GIO quotation was over 40% less. CGU were not interested so I am now insured with GIO. In future I will be testing the market every year.
