What thickness firbreglass?
Here is a tech question for those who may know. I want to build a Targa for the back of my boat. I was going to make it out of Aluminium, but have now decided to make it out of fibreglass. I want the Targa to double as a mast holder (top section only) when trailering. I figure It should be built to hold about 500kg, although the mast weighs no where near that much. I just want to play it safe with the kinetic energy that would be increased when going over bumps in the road etc. My question is, using a plywood internal frame, how many layers of glass matt should I use to obtain the desired strength?
