RL28 holding tank
Has anyone fitted a holding tank recently to an RL28 that conforms with the new requirements? I am interested in hearing from you and any ideas.

Re: RL28 holding tank
We fitted a flexable holding tank to Rings-n-things that conformed to the S.A.requirements under the V berth where the the water tank normally is. Unfortuneately we found that the V berth started to smell a bit like a septic tank. I then shifted it right back to the stern along side of the engine {diesel]. We have a bilge pump set up so that we can pump out at see or we can pump out at the pump out stations. The bilge pump outlet is through the transome as we needed a hole in this area to feed the 1 inch pvc pipe through which then runs right through the boatfrom the holding tank to the electric toilet in the head. There is now no odour inside the boat. The pump out conection is towards the stern on the side of the boat just above the rubbing strip. A valve needs to fitted to isolate the holding tank from the toilet when travelling on the road as we found that the waste flows back to the toilet if the boat is left parked faceing down hill.

Blue Peter has been fitted with a 35 litre holding tank, custom built fiber glass tank inturnaly coated with vineal ester. It's in the void next to the front water tank & partudes into the head. Vented to the out side, there is no smeel. The toilet is plumbed strait in to it.
