The last I heard of "Beyond 2000" was from the published results of the "Round Magnetic Island race", and the entry was from the Townsville YC. That was quite some time ago, but you may be able to trace it from there.
The kevlar RL8 you're asking about was sailed by Peter Dowdall up here at Townsville about 15 years ago. Peter is now living at a town called More in the south east sector of Queensland. I would say that the boat hasn't been sailed for quite a while and is probably down there with him.

If my memory serves me, she was a lightweight kevlar drop keeler that used a wishbonerotating rig and kevlar sails. The hull shape was nothing like your traditional RL design as she had a vertical bow, a beamy aft section and had no internal fitting out. It appeared to be a forerunner to the modern sportsboat design, much to Robb's credit again. She was in quite a state of disrepair when Peter sailed it. It also had a rotating rig with a foil aluminium mast that had been repaired with a fibreglass bandage at some time? The boat displayed some very quick turns of speed off the wind but really suffered on the other points of sail due to the state of the equipment. Hope this helps you.
