Bimini and RL24 Mk 3 with Backstay | I would like to fit a bimini to my RL24 Mk 3 but I am not sure it is feasible with the backstay. Has anyone fitted a bimini in this configuration?

Re: Bimini and RL24 Mk 3 with Backstay | I have a Mk4 without back stay. It should be practical to have a standard bimini on a Mk3 with backstay providing you are able to split the back stay for installation of the bimini and put a reinforcement and hole in the bimini for the back stay.
INMA has a standard Lalizas bimini. Part numbers purchased were 14270, 14262 and 14264 from Whitworths http://www.whitworths.com.au/.
There have been changes in aqvailable equipment since then and I wouls suggest looking at:
1 X 14221 Heavy duty bimini
1 X 14261 Support poles
6 X 14290 hinge deck mount plastic (makes assembly a lot easier)
1 X cover (I do not know the number but you need it to look after the bimini while trailing the boat).

Re: Bimini and RL24 Mk 3 with Backstay | Greg,
Thanks for a very useful reply. Do you have a picture of INMA with the bimini installed? The heavy duty bimini is a foot shorter than yours and I'm interested to see how much of the cockpit is covered by your bimini. Thanks again.

Re: Bimini and RL24 Mk 3 with Backstay | If anything the shorter bimini will be an improvement.
The limit of cover forward is the clearance from the boom (about 20mm). INMA's bimini extends a long way back for little or no gain.
