unknow boat queery, now named VENDETTA | I've recently purchased an RL24 from the northern NSW area, as odd as it seems the boat has no name, nor are there any numbers on any of the sails other than a hand written number in texta on the head of one of the mains (150)
I have the H.I.N number but nothing else
can anyone id this boat or suggest where to start looking for its history
cheers

Re: unknow boat queery | A James Shannon down in Victoria has the sail number 150 on his rl24 and your boat looks diferent. The hand written number on the mainsail could have come from a sail measurer.
Does your boat have narrow cockpit coamings ?

Re: unknow boat queery | Your boat is a Mark 1 and I think your sail number would be below 100. Your boat might have been in the same batch as my Rl24 which were sold in Newcastle as unfinished Kits. Like my Rl24 the cabin windows and fore hatch are nonstandard

Re: unknow boat queery | Well after much searching I've failed to find the boats previous name or sail number.....
However, after checking all the sails yet again, on 2 of the 3 mainsails there is an unusually shaped 'V' around the placement and size of where the "rl24" logo would normally be.
That gave me an idea for a name and sail number to log into the Register of Owners so atleast the boat can have some "history" from now on....
'V' on the mains and so her name became Vendetta after the film named V for Vendetta
cheers for all your help, no doubt I'll continue annoying you all for more bits and pieces

Re: unknow boat queery, now named VENDETTA | Just read your posting. As an alternate possible explanation for the Red V and small Texta numbering. The mainsail could be a 16ft Skiff mainsail. Most skiff mains have an emblem. The Red V is one that was used by Pat Collis for St George 16ft Skiff Sailing Club for many years. The small text numbers could be the sail measurers number. Is there also a small St. G.S.C.on the main either at top or near either clew at bottom of sail? Colin
