type of bolts on the original RL24 Mk3 trailer | I have an RL24 Mark 3 I believe, No 505.
I need some new gal bolts for the trailer. The bolts are are used to adjust the roller height.
I believe they bolts are 7/16 , 1 1/4inch long
I can't tell whether the thread is UNC or BSW. Would anyone know? Does it matter?
I was going to buy some from the USA. As I can't source any locally.
One more question. I use the tipper action on the trailer to launch the boat but not to retrieve. The boat lines up really well without the tipper on retrieval. Is this the right thing to do?
Regards,
Robert

Re: type of bolts on the original RL24 Mk3 trailer | Tilting the trailer on recovery allows the hull to float on further up the trailer before the trailer pulls the weight of the hull out of the water. This allows the second set of rollers to also support the hull reducing the point loads on the keel line.
Winching on without the tilt puts a lot of load on the rear roller and hull as the single point lifts the hull. Its too easy to damage the front of the hull on the roller dragging the hull over the single roller.
