| Re: Reefing set up on RL28 | Phil.
Tie off the outer end of the reefing line (pre stretched rope for preference) as sketch, and pass the line thru the sail and down to a cheek block (best adjustable on a track) then along the boom to another cheek block at the mast end, then up thru the sail and down to a turning block at the bottom of the mast.
See tips and modifications page---- "Have you ever set a reef"

| Re: Reefing set up on RL28 | Gidday Rob, thanks very much for that info as we are doing up No.83 ,not all parts on boat, .and new to sailing, so it has been a challenge which we r enjoying. read the tips page, a lot of great info. Thanks for a great boat, cheers Phil and Cindy

| Re: Reefing set up on RL28 | If you hint where you are located, there might be local sailors prepared to assist with the rigging.
Also rig the single line reef on your top reef because once you decide to reef, that is probably the safest while you figure out how you want to sail. You can the set the first or second reef with shorter lines the shake out the single line reef to increase sail.
I do lots of motor sailing with the reefed sail to cruise in comfort.
Trailer sailer place site has lots of helpful advice on reefing trailer sailor yachts.
