Literally pop it into an rod holder when at anchor or splice it to somewhere visible.
Having said that, im not certain of the battery life of it. I think you would have to change batterys every 24-48 hours. Its on my list of things to do a land base trial run of.
I tested our version of the above with AA's in a AA to C adapter. 3* AA's gave over 48 hours of light continuously left on. Will see what rechargables give.
This is perhaps more applicable to RL28s. I know the all round light should be at the top of the mast but I find when anchored in the Bay, the boats most likely to need to see us are tinnies and a light up there is pretty useless to them. So I hang a fluorescent single tube trouble light on the backstay about as high as I can reach. The light is long enough that it can be seen around the mast and only draws 8W. It's probably not legal but it is more effective when anchored than the masthead light. A waterproof 2 pin socket in the cockpit behind the electrical box provides the power.
